It was amazing!

Dear Editor:I want to thank Aspen High School for offering the Ex Ed program, and the scholarship committee for their generosity. I went on the trip “Horses and Amigos with Linda Lafferty.” At first I thought this trip was going to be very boring, but it was 100 percent to the contrary; it was amazing. I learned many new things like how to saddle a horse; how to hold the reins; and how to ride. It was my first time visiting Utah – the desert was very beautiful. We also went to Arches National Park, where I saw natural Arches for the first time. This was incredible. We also had the opportunity to see Newspaper Rock and the 100-year-old petroglyphs. I had never been camping before, so this trip was very new and exciting. I also had the opportunity to meet new people and practice my English. This trip was a lot of firsts for me, but they were all unforgettable! I now have new friends and a new passion for horses and camping. I want to thank Linda Lafferty and Steve Smith for taking us on this fun trip, they were great leaders. I owe this opportunity to Aspen High School and the Scholarship Committee, if it weren’t for them, I would have never gone on Horses and Amigos.Mario OrellanaAspen
