Israel-Asher Wedding

Gunilla Ruth Israel and Mark Alan Asher were married Oct. 1 at the T-Lazy 7 Ranch in a meadow with Pyramid Peak in the background.

They were joined by her parents, Sandy and Charles Israel of Aspen, Dr. Gun Agell of Seattle, Wash., and Mark’s family of Aurora, Neb. The ceremony was performed by longtime friends Brian Ashbaugh and Shlomo Ben-Hamoo. Gunilla’s sister, Linda Israel-Zimmerman, was the maid of honor and Mark’s brother, Randy Asher, was the best man. In addition to family they were also joined by many local friends and out-of-town guests. The reception was held at the Maroon Bells Lodge.

Gunilla, the advertising director of The Aspen Times and an Aspen native, met Mark in Steamboat Springs, where he has lived for 11 years. He has recently relocated in the Roaring Fork Valley and is working as a superintendent with Heritage Builders Inc.

After a brief honeymoon to the East Coast, Gunilla and Mark are residing in Basalt.
