Ireland will chair BOCC

Mick Ireland was selected yesterday as chairman of the Pitkin County Commissioners for 2001, with Patti Clapper as vice chairwoman.

The commissioners finalized those and other appointments Tuesday, though the posts will not become official until the commissioners approve them in their first regular meeting of 2001, on Jan. 10.

Commissioners appointed to sit on outside boards are:

Shellie Roy: Aspen Chamber Resort Association, Colorado Counties Taxation Commission, GrassRoots TV, Housing Board, and Rural Transportation Authority Board of Directors alternate.

Dorothea Farris: Aspen Institute Community Forum, Colorado Counties, Inc, Colorado State Scenic Byway, RFTA, Rural Transportation Authority Board of Directors, and Roaring Fork Railroad Holding Authority.

Jack Hatfield: Colorado Counties, Inc., Colorado River Water Conservation District, Northwest Colorado Council of Governments alternate, NWCOG Water Quality board, and Ruedi Water and Power.

Patti Clapper: Aspen Mental Health Board, Colorado Counties Taxation Commission, Community Health Services Board, Community Office for Resource Efficiency, Northwest Colorado Council of Governments, Rural Resort Region alternate, and School Board.

Mick Ireland: Aspen Forfeiture Committee, Colorado Department of Transportation, Transportation Planning, Housing Board alternate, and Rural Resort Region.
