Iran is culpable
Dear Editor:
Cathleen Krahe could be correct when she writes, “Iran has not attacked any country in more than 200 years,” though I wonder how she would characterize the 1982 offensive against Iraq, resulting in the death of as many as 500,000 Iraqis, including many civilians (“Don’t blame Iran,” letters, Feb. 23).
But maybe she’s right; perhaps Iran has not, lately, initiated a war against another country. Rather, Iran suppresses, brutalizes and murders its own people, tries to assassinate Saudi diplomats on American soil, and violently undermines every non-Shiite country in the Middle East! Seems its client, Syria, has taken a page out of Iran’s own book, right before our very eyes!

Last month, the City Council adopted 49 amendments to the International Building Code that will go into effect April 1 — no joke.
