Invitation to paradise
August 22, 2005
Dear Editor:Sunday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you are invited to enter paradise! The setting is Robert and Lexie Potamkin’s palatial home surrounded by spacious lawns with Castle Creek rippling along the shore. What more could you want? You say entertainment! We have that, too, with Cathy and the Jazz All Stars’ lively music permeating the air as guests linger over their drinks or browse around the 70-some silent auction items. A 7-foot grand Steinway is featured inside, with artists lending their pianistic talents. Complimentary valet service makes the trip to this haven even more enticing. But, what really makes this a spectacular Aspen Chapel brunch is this menu: roasted brined turkeys, cranberry chutney, quiche Lorraine and quiche Mediterranean, filled green salad with toasted nuts, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese, chicken apple sausage, roasted rosemary potato, fruit salad, pizzettas (created in the host’s pizza oven), rice salad, grilled asparagus and mixed vegetables with roasted red pepper puree, fresh tomato salad, raspberry coffee cakes and orange pecan scones!Children have their own fairyland with slides, swings, trampoline, trails, etc. Won’t you join us for this heavenly expedition? Call 925-7184. Reservations are $150 per person ($110 deductible); children are free.Harriet Line Thompson Aspen Chapel benefit chairwomanAspen and Charlotte, N.C.
