Interest in Aspen School Board mounts
August 28, 2009
ASPEN – It appears there will be a November election to choose Aspen School Board members after all.
With three open seats on the board, nomination petitions from two candidates had been verified by Thursday, and petitions from two other candidates had been turned in, but had yet to be verified – essentially a check to ensure the petitions were signed by registered voters of the district.
In addition, two other prospective candidates had picked up petitions, but had not yet turned them back in. The deadline is Friday, Aug. 28, at 3:30 p.m.
As of Thursday, the petitions of challenger Bob Glah and incumbent Elizabeth Parker had been verified, and petitions from incumbent Charla Belinski and challenger Kathy Frisch had been turned in.
Incumbent Ernie Fyrwald is not seeking re-election to his seat.
