Institute holds wilderness first-aid course

CARBONDALE ” The Wilderness Medicine insti­tute of the National Outdoor Leader­ship School will offer a two-day wilder­ness first aid course Monday and Tuesday, June 4-5, at Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale.

This hands-on, introductory course meets all standards for wilderness first aid training. Partici­pants will learn to make sound med­ical decisions in remote settings, including dislocation reduction, focused spine assessment and epi­nephrine administration.

The cost is $175. Participants should register early, as there is a class-size limit. To register or for more information, contact Tom Pen­zel at CRMS at 963-2562 or tpenzel@crms.org.
