Inhale with care
Dear Editor:’Tis the season of diesel fumes and jet fumes, making the air unbreathable in the early morning. Cold, clear mornings trap those pollutants in the valley bottom. It is too bad Aspen can’t try to be a resort, instead of a nonstop construction zone, at least for a couple weeks during the holidays, thereby reducing some of the diesel fumes. The rest of the time, Aspen needs an environmental cop to sit at the Highway 82 city limit sign from six in the morning until two in the afternoon and ticket vehicles for any visible emission. Diesel engines can be maintained to not produce visible emissions. In the meantime, breathe carefully in the early morning.Ron ThompsonAspen
