SNOWMASS VILLAGE ” The local bike racing season isn’t over yet.

Rain washed out the Aspen Cycling Club’s June 6 road circuit event in Snowmass Village, so the club is making up the race at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The race starts across from the Two Creeks parking lot and takes riders up Owl Creek Road toward Snowmass Village. Riders will veer right on Brush Creek Road, then right again on Highline Road for a climb back to Owl Creek Road before a final push back to the start/finish area.

A fun, fast course with minimal climbing, it’s ideal for recreational riders considering their first race.

Registration will take place in the Two Creeks main parking lot between 5 and 5:45 p.m. Fees are $5 for ACC members and $10 for nonmembers. Ample parking is available at the Two Creeks lot.

The citizens, masters, juniors and vet women’s fields will begin with a mass start at 6 p.m. and race three laps. Senior men’s A, veteran men’s A and senior women’s A will start at 6:20 p.m. and race for four or five laps (daylight permitting).

Race changes and/or cancellation for weather will be announced at the start.

Marshals are needed; to volunteer, call Susan (Mouse) Carollo at 618-4626 or 922-0065.
