In honor of Jasper

Dear Editor: Losing Jasper Lecht is a truly tragic loss for this planet. For those who were fortunate enough to have known or have been touched by this extraordinary young man, such a statement is painfully obvious. One of the faces of courage is just being true to oneself in one’s own place and in one’s own time and such was the courage of Jasper. He was a unique, brilliant, respected, nonjudgmental, thoughtful, funny humanitarian, and goddamn it, I will miss him forever. It behooves us all to do more and do better, to fill that hole left behind, to laugh harder, cry longer and become more essential in honor of Jasper.Brooke NewmanAspen
