Basalt-based mortgage lender to offer home-buying seminars aimed at Burlingame III
Bay Equity Home Loans will be hosting free one-hour seminars at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 21 and Oct. 5 and 12. The final lottery group for Burlingame III units is Oct. 11. The seminars will be held at the Pitkin County Library.
The seminars will include information on credit, down payment options, loan options, qualifications and the overall process. Questions are encouraged. In-between the two classes each day, six 30-minute time slots will be available for private loan consultations/pre-approvals.

Open House at the Studio for Arts & Works in Carbondale
Studio for Arts & Works in Carbondale is hosting an open house for open studios and art sales. The open house is Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1-6 p.m., followed by a courtyard party with music from Caleb Kofsky and Jack Douglas of the local band Tommy the Animal from 6-9 p.m. Gerb’s Grub food truck will be onsite 5-8 p.m.

Aspen Words executive director to discuss new novel at TACAW

Community invited to learn more about Ruedi Reservoir
Roaring Fork Conservancy and April Long from Ruedi Water and Power Authority are hosting an informational tour of the Ruedi Reservoir and its significance to the Western Slope. Participants will learn about the history of Ruedi, including why this site was selected for the reservoir, transbasin water diversions, how Ruedi Reservoir operates, and more. Participants will also gain a unique perspective of the dam and its construction from the Rocky Fork area.
