If I were mayor …

Dear Editor:If I were Aspen mayor or an Aspen city councilman, here are some things I would have on my agenda to get done during my term in elected public office: Pledge of Alliance to begin formal council meetings; city police tackling more white-collar crimes; employers hiring more Americans; no sanctuary for illegal aliens; city finance department investigating sales revenue sources and accuracy; halting building affordable housing until past projects and practices investigated; televising city panel meetings; Los Angeles County methodology and penalties toward all business establishments serving food and beverages to upgrade public health standards and reputation; program to encourage businesses to hire many more unemployed Coloradans and other Americans; profitable Sister City relationship with Beverly Hills; encourage more small-business capital formation; business incubator program; attract hip and fashionable people to visit and vacation in Aspen; less vehicular traffic in Aspen proper; less reliance on construction industry; encourage former Aspenites to visit; improve the business climate and mix; government access television; and more special events programming and production.Just a few items to consider.Emzy Veazy III, Esq.
