‘Idol’ in Aspen airs Wednesday
Aspen, CO, Colorado
ASPEN – Anyone interested in catching the “American Idol” taping that took place in Aspen in September should tune in to the Fox TV show Wednesday.
Season 11’s auditions in Aspen will air at 7 p.m., according to the show’s website.
Roughly 120 “Idol” hopefuls showed up in Aspen, having advanced from open auditions in Denver last summer. The show took over Aspen Meadows, bringing in a crew of about 115 people, plus the contestants and judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, along with show host Ryan Seacrest. In addition, about 45 locals had jobs on the production set.
What to expect Wednesday: It’s a good bet that someone will remark on the effect Aspen’s thin mountain air has on the singers. Other than that, it’s tough to say. The taping was kept under tight wraps in September, though the judges and Seacrest took time out for a press conference during their stay.
