I’d rather eat at home

Dear Editor:

I’m not sure what is happening in the restaurants in Basalt. Recently I have experienced the following: On Sunday, Aug. 1, it took one and a half hours to get two eggs over easy at Two Rivers. A friend who needed to catch a plane almost missed it even though we arrived at Two Rivers two hours before we needed to leave to be at the airport.

On Thursday, Aug. 5, I was with a group of six at El Korita. It was not jam packed, but it was busy. It took, however, 2 1/2 hours to get our dinner.

The other evening I met a good friend at Tempranillo at 6:30 for drinks and dinner. Besides the fact that the bartender was a complete bitch to us, it took four, yes, four, hours to complete our meal. We ordered three appetizers. Our main dish came out before the appetizers and then the appetizers were presented and they were not what we ordered!

I have lived in Basalt for the last 20 years and I absolutely love Basalt. But seriously, I would rather stay home and cook for myself and my friends. I will not spend the money to wait for hours for a meal.
