I ran because I can

Reflecting on another incredible Golden Leaf half-marathon, I am awed by the more than 450 participants (some in shape … some struggling), who tested their balance and resolve on the Government Trail again this year. There were smiles galore and not a cell phone in sight on Sunday morning Sept. 21. It was a great event on a beautiful day.

Two years ago, I ran for the victims of September 11. Last year, I ran with my heart in Robbie’s memory. This year, I ran because I still can!!!

What a treat to nurse my sore muscles after the race sitting next to Barry Mink, aware that it was his 25th Golden Leaf. He was even wearing his ancient T-shirt from the first year. Yeah, Barry!!!

Thanks for another memory and a special thanks to everyone at the Ute.
