Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” Repair work will begin Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon, resulting in lane closures and delays for motorists until mid-October.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has contracted with Interstate Sealant and Concrete to do the work for $436,086. The project involves repairing surface cracks on the interstate between mile posts 118 and 131 (the Hanging Lake Tunnel is at about mile marker 125) in both the east- and west-bound lanes.

Work will take place daily, including weekends, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., until the project’s scheduled completion in mid-October (work may or many not be necessary on every weekend in order to finish before the winter weather.)

Motorists will encounter single-lane closures and delays of up to 15 minutes, depending upon traffic volume, according to CDOT.
