GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” Interstate 70 traffic was flowing in both directions in Grand Junction again Thursday, one day after a tractor-trailer rig exploded, killing two people and shutting down the heavily traveled highway.

One westbound lane reopened on Thursday. An eastbound lane opened Wednesday.

The truck was carrying a form of bleach, commercial cleaning liquids and industrial hardware when it crashed into an overpass, snapping a support pillar and bursting into flames.

The victims’ names had not been released.

Traffic had been diverted on to an 11-mile detour. I-70 carries about 19,000 cars and trucks a day through Grand Junction.
