Hwy. 133 bridge closures done, for now
Aspen, CO Colorado
CARBONDALE ” The scheduled closure of the Highway 133 bridge at the entrance to Carbondale on Thursday and Friday nights will not occur.
Crews working on widening the bridge set new steel girders in place during nighttime work on Monday through Wednesday, so the anticipated night closures on Thursday and Friday won’t be necessary, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Sema Construction Inc. is the contractor on the project, which involves building a second span adjacent to the existing bridge over the Roaring Fork River in order to widen the highway from two to four lanes. Periodic closures of the existing bridge, scheduled at night to minimize impacts to traffic, will be necessary until the project is finished. The target date for completion is Dec. 1.
