Humorist David Sedaris to make Wheeler Opera House appearance in November
Acclaimed humorist and bestselling author David Sedaris will appear Nov. 5 at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen.
Sedaris, a frequent guest on NPR, is the author of several books of essays, including “Naked,” “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim” and “Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls.” Tickets are $65 ($45 for Wheeler Wins/Club Wheeler Members) and will go on sale Aug. 8 at the Wheeler Box Office (970-920-5770 and aspenshowtix.com).
Aspen’s Explore Booksellers also is offering an early ticket purchase opportunity starting Monday. Details will be available at the store, located at 221 E. Main St.
Sedaris also authored “Barrel Fever” and “Holidays on Ice” as well as collections of personal essays “Naked,” “Me Talk Pretty One Day” and “When You Are Engulfed in Flames,” each of which became bestsellers.
He is the author of the New York Times-bestselling collection of fables entitled “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary.” He also was the editor of “Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories.”
Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in The New Yorker and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.”
He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name “The Talent Family” and have written half a dozen plays produced at such venues as La Mama, the Lincoln Center and The Drama Department in New York City.
