How good is that goodwill gesture?

Dear Editor:

If I had only known the last 12 years that I could be living in one of our public parks rent-free, I would be about $20,000 a year richer. And having been hit not once but TWICE by drunken drivers, I find the “goodwill” van donation to known drunks a repulsive act that makes the community look weak and stupid.
