Some say kids seem to grow like weeds. Students at Basalt Elementary School recently learned a lot about that analogy through the kindergarten production of “How Does Your Garden Grow?” The kindergarten class performed for fellow students in the afternoon and for parents and community members at night.

Some of the young performers played the part of the cool kids, or “weeds” (above left). They included Jasmine Boyden, Josiah Fredericks, William Rivera, Garrett Golbus, Katie Schrock, Samantha Kummer and Gloria Hernandez.

Other performers (above right) included Piper Baldwin as the “Queen Cabbage,” Juliet Frazzini as a sunflower, Sande Nokes as a carrot, Maria Esquivel as a bunny, Sylvia Rodriguez as a raindrop, Jacob Bassi as “Farmer Herb” and Cole Resch as a red pepper.
