Houpt’s horse sense
October 12, 2010
Having voted Republican for the last 30 years except the last election when the Republican national ticket was way too insulting, I consider myself an independent and a moderate centrist, where I believe the truth resides.
With that background, it is easy to favor and endorse Tresi Houpt for re-election as a commissioner of Garfield County. Tresi represents a voice of reason and thoughtful consideration. She believes in growth, but not growth at any cost.
Where business might trample the rights, hopes and dreams of homeowners and neighborhoods, Tresi might object. For example, she might object to unbridled gravel pit growth where the current permitted supply amply satisfies existing and future need. Tresi Houpt has “horse sense.” Tresi Houpt rocks.
