Hometown heroes

As chairpersons of the newly founded Kids to Kids program, we had hopeful expectations of our own organizations, Aspen Country Day School and A Grassroots Aspen Experience, and what they would do for the firefighter families from New York City who spent Valentine’s week with us.

It was always our hope that Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley would open its hearts and arms to these new heroes of our country and their families, and make this a special week for them.

Even during this economic challenging year, the response and outpouring of generosity and emotion from our community exceeded our wildest imaginations. Thank you to the Roaring Fork Valley community for doing more than making it special … you made it perfect and memorable.

Thank you for sharing our mountain paradise. Thank you for making an impression that will last a lifetime for our special firefighter families from New York City. You showed the true spirit of giving and made our community very proud.
