Homeowner association meetings set in Aspen

ASPEN – The Aspen-Pitkin County Housing Authority and the Housing Frontiers Group will hold informational sessions for affordable housing homeowners associations on Wednesday.

Mike Kelsen from Aspen Reserve Specialties will make several short presentations on the process of a new capital reserve study and what he will need from each HOA to complete the study. Aspen Reserve Specialties will be performing a capital reserve study for the housing authority’s entire deed-restricted program.

Lenders are requiring a certain amount of a capital reserve, along with other requirements, for a homeowner to sell their home or to refinance, according to Cindy Christensen, operations manager for the housing authority.

“The study will show HOAs what type of reserves they should have in order to maintain their complex, the life of the infrastructure, and when a major item would need to be repaired or replaced,” she said.

The times and locations that are available on Jan. 20 are:

8 a.m. – Plaza 1 meeting room, 530 E. Main St., in back of the clerk and recorder’s office.

10:30 a.m. – Plaza 1 meeting room.

Noon – Plaza 1 meeting room.

4 p.m.- Pitkin County Library meeting room, 120 N. Mill St., downstairs.

5:30 p.m.- Pitkin County Library meeting room.
