Homebuyer education workshop set in Glenwood

GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” Valley residents thinking of buying their first home might want to check out a homebuyer education workshop Saturday in Glenwood Springs.
The workshop, conducted by specialists with the Mountain Home Regional Housing Corp., will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1901 Grand Ave., next to Safeway.
The class covers a variety of information critical to making a home purchase, including such topics as budgeting, credit, mortgage loans, the lender and the real estate broker, the inspection, homeowner insurance and how the closing process works.
Also available will be information about Mountain Home Regional Housing’s downpayment and closing-cost assistance programs, which involve loans at what the agency terms “a very low interest rate.”
The Mountain Home Regional Housing Corp. is a HUD approved agency, according to information provided by the agency. Participants are urged to pre-register by calling 384-6447.
