EAGLE COUNTY – Eagle County Airport officials are calling the Christmas holiday weekend one of the best for business in recent memory. The parking lot – which has about 1,000 spaces – was 90 percent full during the weekend, said Ovid Seiphers, the airport manager. Most commercial flights were full, and about 350 corporate jets flew in between Christmas Eve and Monday, he added. On Sunday and Monday, the jet center’s ramp was completely full, he said. “They had a very good weekend,” Seiphers said. All these travelers made the airport terminal particularly busy. But Seiphers said that the check-in line wait never was more than 12 minutes. Rental car companies did well, too.”It’s was very busy, extremely busy,” said Kim Darker, manager for Avis Rent-a-Car. “We had a really good season.”Airport officials were bracing for another busy weekend for the New Year’s holiday.
