Hold on to heart and soul

Dear Editor:

I would like to commend Andy Stone for his perspective on the employee-housing issue.

Having known Heidi Mines for more than 20 years and the fact that she is a loving, caring mother and member of our community, I am saddened by the fact that “neighbors” are turning one another in. So much for face-to-face communication – hello, more technology. Another alternative is if that person maybe knows another employer in need of a talented, qualified, now healthy individual to fill a position. The problem with lack of communication and fear of dealing with issues of a personal matter is haunting. I also know Susan Johnson and wish I could offer either some solace or a job.

When our community and our government forces do lose that heart and soul that brought me here more than 30 years ago, it’s an ugly scenario. Let’s hope that Tom McCabe and his fortunate-to-have-a-job housing-authority employees find some positive alternative to this situation. If we lose our perspective, this paradise we inhabit is doomed and forever cursed. Aloha.

David Weiss
