Hiking for hope
In Peter Westcott’s sixth-grade class, a mentorship project is required. For my project, I am honored to work with Carole and Bob Sharp in the amazing Hike for Hope event. One hundred percent of the money earned in this nonprofit event goes to help find a cure for muscular dystrophy, a life-threatening disease.
This is the fourth annual Wintersköl Hike for Hope Uphill taking place on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee is $25 for each person wishing to do this event. In addition, there is a $5 pancake breakfast at the Cliffhouse. On Jan. 12, there will also be a float in the Wintersköl parade representing Hike for Hope.
Ian Sharp is a 14-year-old student who is fighting Becker muscular dystrophy. He is one of the nicest kids I have ever met and a great friend to everybody. Ian has been my inspiration to help out and participate in this fantastic event. It would be great to see your face out there supporting Ian and this great cause.

While China needed to be effectively confronted over its trade policies toward the U.S., the way the Trump Administration did it was antiquated, counter-productive and overly negative.
