Hike for Hope returns to Aspen on Jan. 11
Uphill diehards, recreational climbers or even those looking to start the year off on a healthy foot, mark Jan. 11 on your calendars. That’s the date of the 11th annual Winterskol Hike for Hope uphill event, which starts at 7:30 a.m. at the base of Buttermilk ski area.
Proceeds from the event, which costs $25 to enter, will go toward funding research for muscular dystrophy. The event was started in 2005 by Aspen residents Bob and Carole Sharp to raise funds to help seek a cure for muscular dystrophy. Their son, Ian, has Becker Muscular Dystrophy.
Online registration closes at 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 10. Participants can also register from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. on race day.
