Highway 82 work will delay traffic starting Monday

Motorists on Highway 82 can expect delays between mile-markers 31 and 33 in the westbound lane starting Monday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be doing a retaining-wall-repair project just east of the Pitkin County Landfill. The project is scheduled to last five months.

Traffic control will be in place from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

From 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, westbound Highway 82 will be reduced to one-lane with a reduced speed limit of 35 mph. Weekend lane closures are possible for the duration of the project. Additionally on westbound Highway 82, the right shoulder will be closed from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a reduced speed limit of 40 mph.
