VAIL, Colo. – Parker McDonald found the perfect last-minute homecoming date in the school lunch room: Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn.

The superstar skier was visiting Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy on Thursday when the 15-year-old McDonald worked up the courage to ask her to his dance. She accepted, and the two had their impromptu date Friday night.

Vonn posted on her Facebook page that McDonald was “cute, nervous and very polite,” leading to her positive response. She also said she never got a chance to go to a school dance when she was growing up so she was very excited.

Vonn also posted pictures from the dance on her page on Saturday.
