Henry Leroy Garton

Harry Leroy Garton died peacefully as he slept on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007.

He is survived by his daughter, Roslyn Hamby, and grandchildren Zeb, Geri, Rachel, Jesse and David James. His greatgrandchildren whom he also dearly loved are Isaac, Jonas and Gideon. He has one surviving sister, Alice Miller.

“Roy” was born in 1919 in Oatman, Ariz. He was happily married for 54 years to Rosa Lee Muncy. She preceded him in death on Nov. 10,1999. Also preceding him in death was his son, Kenneth, who died March 30, 1992.

He spent his life enjoying family and friends. He was known for his friendliness and sense of humor. He always had a song to sing.

He was known to many in the valley for his zeal and devotion to a work he had been active in for 75 years. He taught people from the Bible that the only solution to mankind’s suffering is divine intervention by means of God’s heavenly kingdom through Christ Jesus.

We will miss our little Pappy, but we will keep in mind the words “Precious in the eyes of Jehovah is the death of his loyal ones.” Psalms 116:15.

There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 0097 Lions Ridge Road in Carbondale.
