Destination Imagination is an international nonprofit organization for kindergarten-through-college students and community groups that teaches life skills and expands imaginations through team-based creative problem solving.

Many of your readers may be familiar with the “Odyssey of the Mind” competitions which evolved into DI. Carbondale Elementary School was the only school in the entire Roaring Fork Valley that sent teams to the regional competition in March.

The teams practiced after school for several months with their team managers. They won first place in their division, (Elementary Level, Art of Improv Challenge) at the state level competition, out of a field of 25 teams from all over Colorado.

This team of outstanding Carbondale students now needs to raise over $1,500 to help pay for the cost of attending the global competition in Tennessee. They have only three weeks to do this. We ask that anyone in our community who is proud of this hometown team, which will be representing Carbondale in a worldwide competition, please send contributions to the CES/DI Fund at 600 S.
