Help for a fellow vet

Dear Editor:

Attention, Russ Williamson! I saw your letter in The Aspen Times (“An invitation to see what it’s like,” April 13) about your traveling to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction for your treatment, and I have some information for you.

I called the VA medical center in Glenwood Springs and talked to Molly there, and if your treatment is chemo, she said you should call the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction and talk to your primary-care person about having your treatment transferred to an oncology service in Glenwood Springs. You can call Molly at 970-945-1007 to verify this information.

I have made the trip to the VA in Grand Junction for many years and got my next visit transferred to Glenwood Springs this summer. I’m in the phone book, and you are unlisted, so call me if you wish. As far as Richards is concerned, please forgive her – she doesn’t know any better!

Good luck and God bless, Russ!

Chris Tessem
