(This letter was originally addressed to Patrick Raab, executive director of Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale.)Dear Editor:I want to thank you and the entire staff at the Heritage Park Care Center for the excellent care provided to my mother as a resident over the past four years. In addition to the excellent physical care provided to her as an Alzheimer’s patient. I want to thank Deana Jacoby and the staff of Gardner Hall for their loving, compassionate and good-humored caregiving. I know my Mom appreciated the hugs and kisses that she received from all of you and I also know that all of you appreciated the hugs and kisses that she gave back to you.During my mother’s last few days, when my sister and other family members stayed by her bedside, we received the kindest care and consideration from all Gardner Hall staff and from other Heritage Park staff of all disciplines within the care giving profession. During this time we witnessed the kind care and affection provided my mother. You all have my admiration as professionals and my appreciation as compassionate persons.Art HouglandGlenwood Springs
This wasn’t my best work. I still stand by my original picks to win each of the snowboard contests at X Games Aspen 2023, but fate chose poorly. The main lesson? Don’t pick against Mark McMorris, Marcus Kleveland or Scotty James, unless you have a very good reason.
