GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” A plea hearing is scheduled Thursday in the last unresolved prostitution case arising from four arrests during undercover investigations into area Asian massage parlors.

The 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office on Sept. 25 dismissed a case against Yong Sun Fountain, the owner of the VIP Spa in Parachute. Fountain’s employee, Soon Hee Kim, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to one count of soliciting for prostitution. Kim was sentenced the same day to one year of probation under a deferred judgment and sentence, according to the Garfield County Combined Courts office.

Authorities alleged the two were involved in prostitution at the spa after their arrests in April.

Fountain’s case reportedly was dismissed due to a lack of a reasonable likelihood of proving her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Her attorney contended Fountain was not at the VIP Spa during the time in question.

Fountain filed a lawsuit after the arrests, claiming Parachute government officials unjustly took away her business license. She subsequently dropped the complaint.

Hui Jun Mu was found not guilty of prostitution after a trial in August. She was arrested at the A1 Chinese Health Care Massage on Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs in October 2006. Her attorney argued she didn’t understand the sex acts an undercover officer was trying to communicate to her via words and a hand gesture. She spoke limited English.

Qing Zhang was arrested the same night as Jun Mu at the Asian Day Spa on Cooper Avenue in Glenwood. She’s scheduled to enter a plea Thursday.
