Aspen, CO ColoradoHarriet Stievelman, 71, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, in Manhattan. Stievelman and her husband, Jack, were married for 52 years – she was the love of his life, and a devoted and loving mother to Jodi, Troy and Gabi, and mother-in-law to Stacy and Mitchell. She was also a loyal and generous sister to Barbara and a proud and fun-loving grandmother to Chelsey, Casey, Kori, Jared, Jake and Jonathan.Stievelman would best be described as a delicious person – to know her was to love her. She touched and enriched so many people’s lives.Stievelman’s happiest years were the 16 she spent in Snowmass and Aspen. She fell in love with the beautiful outdoor life and all it had to offer. She was an avid hiker and biker, loved to play tennis, and especially loved to ski. Along with her husband, Harriet was a member of the Maroon Creek Club. She loved the arts, and was very involved with local nonprofits the Shining Stars Foundation and the Aspen Camp/School for the deaf. She met so many wonderful people and cherished the close friendships she made. She is already truly missed.
