Hard work for a good cause

Dear Editor: On behalf of the 1,800 Roaring Fork youth served by the Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club, I would like to thank everyone who helped kick off our 70th season on Dec. 9 at the AVSC 70th Anniversary Gala. The gala is the largest fundraising event of the year and generates crucial funding for AVSC programs. We hope that everyone had a wonderful time. I would also like to highlight the long hours of so many volunteers that make these events happen: Bonnie Liebmann, Susanne Shimp and her auction team are always amazing, Lisa Chiles, Cindi Davis and Carmen Downey who swooped in and were life savers, Shae Singer for her tremendous talents, our charming AVSC athletes for who we do this all for, Kevin Smiddy, Rob Dasaro and David Cox for taking care of the band and the AVSC parents and supporters who did everything from stuffing envelopes, selling raffle tickets (Davey Wilson – you are a star), soliciting auction items, advertising, working the party and just about everything under the sun.
