Grief tempered by outpouring of support

Dear Editor:

The family of Thomas Vermilyea wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the people and agencies that assisted in his recovery and attempted revival. We especially thank the swift water rescue personnel for their skill and courage in the most daunting of circumstances.

On a personal note, let me thank everyone who hugged, wrote and called with expressions of love and sympathy. The grief we all feel can only be tempered by a hope and prayer for his lasting peace. Tommie, we’re all going to miss you! Tell old Don Juan I said hello.

Paul Vermilyea
