Green hypocrite

Dear Editor:

I see the Tartuffe (global warming is a religion, is it not?) Thomas Friedman has made his annual pilgrimage to Aspen. Like Moliere’s detestable Tartuffe, Friedman is a scheming hypocrite. He persuades more with power than lies. Many of us, however, recognize a masquerade when we see one. Behind the Prius and the pretense lies the $10 million East Coast house, the Gary Cooper estate in Aspen, the private jet, the $200 million square feet of air-conditioned mall space. And he has the chutzpah to tell us, “There is no way the planet can handle so many Americans.” Perhaps he should say: There is no way the planet can handle so many Bucksbaum Friedmans.
