Great Veterans Day ceremony

I would like to thank all of the veterans who attended the ceremony. To me, veterans include all those who have been touched by the conflict of war: wives, children, friends and family.

I want to thank Debbie Harder-Kreutzer and her great fifth-grade class for the songs, a wonderful touch. To the lovely lady, with the voice of an angel, thank you. Thanks to Father O’Brien for words of comfort and inspiration. My thanks to the veterans and their words of remembrance for fallen brothers and sisters. To have people come forward and share their memories is a very special tribute to all veterans.

To the Elks, a thank-you does not seem adequate for your sense of obligation toward veterans and the care you afford them.

What a pleasure it was to recite the pledge of allegiance and not have to be concerned about being politically correct as to what words were spoken. It was also most rewarding to recite the pledge with people who fully appreciate the pledge and what it stands for. All I can say is THANK YOU!!
