Great support for Haitians

Susie and Joe KrabacherFoundation for Worldwide Mercy & Sharing

The Foundation for Worldwide Mercy & Sharing brought several orphaned children to Aspen for the holidays from one of our orphanages in Haiti. Not only were the children blessed by the generosity of many in the Aspen community, but the Haitian adults who came to care for these special needs children were also blessed. We wanted to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who was involved in showing these children from the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere how much we have to be thankful for in one of the wealthiest cities in the Western Hemisphere.Special thanks go out to Steve Gorlin for the airplane tickets from Haiti to Denver; the Aspen Skiing Co. for tickets and ski equipment; Challenge Aspen and Houston Cowan, Richard Fitzgerald, Alisa Tillung and the other volunteers who took the kids skiing; T Lazy 7 and Rick and Landon Deane and the guides for an incredible snowmobile trip to Maroon Bells; and Channel 2 News Denver for coverage of the trip. Also to Steve and Michelle Woodrow, Scott and Nancy DeWind, Curt Sanders, Jennifer Causing, Diana Godwin, Heather Manolakas, Cheryl Heiberger, Sue Knable and Shayn McFarland for the Christmas gifts for the children; Kathleen Carlson for a great article in The Aspen Daily News and American Airlines for travel vouchers that allow us to travel to Haiti. What a holiday blessing indeed!
