Great silent auction

This fall, Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale had its biggest-ever silent auction, netting more than $34,000 for our scholarship fund.

The generous support of the CRMS parent community and businesses from the valley and beyond were key to the auction’s success. In addition to the many parents and friends of CRMS who donated auction items and volunteered countless hours, we’d like to thank the 165 local and statewide businesses for their support.

Close to 40 percent of CRMS students receive financial aid each year through the school’s scholarship fund. This allows many of our local students to attend CRMS, and keeps our campus diverse by supporting Native American, international and other boarding students, too. The scholarship fund exists through donations and fund-raising events, such as the silent auction, Scholarship Work Day and the gyros booth at the Carbondale Mountain Fair.

CRMS is a nonprofit, independent, college-preparatory boarding and day school. This year we are celebrating our 50th year of offering a unique program of challenging academic and outdoor studies in a progressive, experiential environment.

Through community support of fund-raising events like our silent auction, we hope to continue providing access to our unique educational program for many more years, to many more students.
