Grateful for firefighters

Dear Editor:

A very belated and heartfelt thank you to the community fire departments of the Roaring Fork Valley and specifically the crew and supervisors of Basalt Fire Department Truck 42. If not for the professionalism and wisdom of these individuals we would have certainly lost our house to the wildfire that blazed through our community on April 15, 2008.

Every day I am grateful.
