GrassRoots event a ‘rollicking success’
December 23, 2010
Last Thursday, GrassRoots TV held its second annual 9-Ball Co-Ed Pool Tournament fundraiser at Aspen Billiards and Eric’s bar. It was a rollicking success.
A lively group of participants turned out for a fun, competitive night benefiting a great cause: The oldest community television station in the United States – GrassRoots TV – which has been broadcasting in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley (and now worldwide on grassrootstv.org) for more than 38 years. Its continued success depends on contributions from community members such as those who chipped in to make the pool tournament a success.
Congratulations to tournament winners Drew Deas and Ashley Hall (first place), Zak Boaeuf and Whitney Hassett (second), and Michael Miracle (moi) and Kendra Gros (third).
A big thank-you to Mary Lynn Casper and Michael Edinger of Aspen Billiards and Eric’s for donating the pool hall, bar and staff time. Also, thank you to the following sponsors: Black Tie Ski Rentals, Hamilton Sports, Jimmy’s Restaurant, John Keck of AXA Advisors, John Lewin of Timberline Bank, People’s Press, Scott Wright of Aspen Advanced, and Silverpeak Apothocary.
Thanks to Aspen Sojourner magazine for donating Depaz Rhum, staff time and production assistance, and to The Gambrinus Co. for their contribution of Trumer Pils beer.

Lastly, thank you to all our participants for making this a successful fundraiser. GrassRoots hopes to do it again in April. So stay tuned, and, until then, tune in to GrassRoots TV.
