Grant helped feed chapel visitors

Dear Editor:

We would like to thank the town of Snowmass Village for its generous grant this past winter. Thanks to the grant, Snowmass Chapel was able to offer free pasta dinners every Thursday night during ski season, serving more than 680 meals. We averaged 25 to 30 people per week, sometimes serving as many as 70 in one night. Lifties, teachers, tourists, grandparents and grandkids all graced our tables, and many new friends were found. Each week, people hung out to play foosball, air hockey and video games and eat a hot meal on a cold winter night.

We are so grateful to the many volunteers who cooked and served each week, to the town for its generosity and support and to the hungry folks who came to eat! What a great way to create a sense of community and friendship.

Mangia mangia!
