Governor to talk in Snowmass

SNOWMASS VILLAGE – Gov. John Hickenlooper will speak at a fundraiser for Roaring Fork Leadership in March, the nonprofit has announced.

The governor will discuss his path to state politics, and guests will have an opportunity to pose questions related to leadership, according to a statement from the nonprofit. The event is open to the public.

The event has been dubbed “Hickenlooper 2.0” because the governor has spoken to the nonprofit before, in August 2007, said executive director Andrea Palm-Porter. Hosting the governor is a way to mark Roaring Fork Leadership’s 25th birthday, according to a statement, and all proceeds from the event will go to the nonprofit’s 25th Anniversary Fundraiser Fund.

The governor also will attend a private fundraiser for his re-election campaign that same day at the Viceroy Snowmass.

Roaring Fork Leadership is a nonprofit that aims to help people build effective leadership skills. Eighty percent of its 600 alumni live in the Roaring Fork Valley, according to a statement.

The fundraiser is from 6 to 8 p.m. March 6 in the Base Village Conference Center. Tickets are $35, or $45 at the door. For more information, visit
