Pitkin County voters will go to the polls Friday, along with the rest of Colorado’s electorate, to vote in the presidential primaries for the Democrat and Republican parties.Voters are eligible to vote only for candidates of the party the voter is affiliated with, meaning Republicans can vote only for Republicans and Democrats can vote only for Democrats.The deadline for changing voter affiliation was Feb. 10, but unaffiliated voters may name an affiliation at the polling place.In Pitkin County the polling places are:The Aspen Youth Center, next to the Rio Grand Parking Garage off Main Street in Aspen (precincts 1, 2 and 3);The Common House at Independence Place off Lone Pine Road, Aspen (precinct 4);The First Baptist Church, 726 W. Francis St., Aspen (precincts 5 and 7);St. Mary’s Church, 533 E. Main St., Aspen (precinct 6);The Schultz Health & Human Services Building, next to Aspen Valley Hospital on Castle Creek Road outside Aspen (precincts 8, 9 and 15);The Snowmass Chapel and Community Center, 5307 Owl Creek Road, Snowmass Village (precincts 10 and 11);The Basalt High School, 600 Southside Drive, Basalt (precincts 12, 14 and 16);The Church at Redstone, 213 Redstone Blvd., Redstone (precinct 13).The polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
