Gordon T. "Gordy" Winagle Jr.

Aspen, CO Colorado

Gordon T. “Gordy” Winagle Jr., formerly of Aspen, passed away in July 2010 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Fla. He was 79.

Gordon was born Aug. 16, 1930 in Philadelphia to Gordon T. Winagle and Marion R. Sanville. He graduated from lower Marion High School in 1949.

He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1953. Gordon was a ski patrolman at Buttermilk for more than 20 years and an EMT. He also worked in the valley as a carpenter. He loved to play golf and sail. After leaving Aspen, he worked as a commercial captain in Florida.

Gordon is survived by his two sons, James Winagle of Tafton, Penn. and Jeffery Winagle of Orford, N.H.; grandchildren Megan and Jack, and Emma and Lily. He survived his wife, Hope Estin, who passed in 2004.

A memorial is tentatively scheduled for February 2011 in Aspen.
