Good times with a caveat

Dear Editor:

SMG Connections would like to give a big thanks to everyone that helped and attended Marble Fest. The Fest had its biggest turnout to date! We say thanks to our bands for sharing their talent, to our sponsors and friends who worked so hard to make the festival happen, and the countless other organizations and people who have supported us from day one. We would also like to give thanks to the town of Marble for having us into your community, we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

As with anything there are ups and downs. We are disappointed to report that we had theft of some of our donations occur at the festival this year. There was an estimated $2,000 stolen. This is a hit to us as we are trying to provide a free festival that brings people together. We will not let this discourage us but we must ask for help to ensure that this great event continues for years to come. Please contact us if you feel so inclined to help.

As we look forward to next year’s Marble Fest, we keep our mission to create community through music and art in front of us. Thanks again and we will see you all in 2012!

Meagan Goodwin and Shanti Gruber
